Adopting a Pet

Sooner or later we all discover that the important moments in life are not the advertised ones, not the birthdays, the graduations, the weddings, not the great goals achieved. The real milestones are less prepossessing. They come to the door of memory unannounced, stray dogs that amble in, sniff around a bit and simply never leave. Our lives are measured by these.

MakING a Donation

Thank you for choosing to help strays and abandoned souls at Zand Animal Sanctuary India.

What we do

Our Services

Rescuing Pets

When you adopt, not only do you save the life of your new pet, you free up space in the facility to give another one a chance at finding a new home

We  help you pick a dog or cat that will be the right fit for your family and lifestyle

Finding Pets a Home

Animals are sensitive, and they know when they’ve reached a safe and loving place

foster care

Pet foster care provides a safe, nurturing environment for a homeless pet until a permanent home is found. Many rescue groups don’t have shelter facilities to house pets, we provide care for sick, injured or very young pets until they are ready to be adopted.

What Drives Us

Our Mission

Our mission is to rescue and treat owner-less street animals of Mumbai who have become ill or injured, and through their rescue inspire the community to care for the lives of all animals.

Get Involved

Become a proud member of our rescue team by making a donation, sponsoring an animal and more.

With your help we rescue thousands of animals each year from desperate situations.

Pet Adoption Notes

Adopting VS BUying

Adopting a puppy (or dog) invariably saves an animal’s life, provides an abandoned or neglected animal a caring home, and helps ease the pet overpopulation problem (since most adopted puppies have been neutered).

How to Find the Perfect Pet

Just like how things go in dating and finding a mate, finding your perfect match (in a pet) is not that easy as well but is certainly doable. All you have to do is set aside some time to think about what you should consider before adopting and work with that so you can find the perfect match for you.
